Therapeutic Massage with Tia
Hello, and welcome!
My name is Tia. I am a Licensed Massage Therapist who has been practicing in the state of Illinois since 2020. My approach to bodywork is intentional and grounded in deep presence and flow. During each session, my goal is to create a safe and supportive environment that allows your nervous system to shift out of “fight or flight” and into “rest and digest”, where the body can begin to engage its natural restorative processes.
Drawing on my education and experience in various public health settings, I tailor each session to your individual needs. Modalities and tools I like to use include Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Assisted Stretching, Aromatherapy, and the application of heat to address areas of concern.
I believe that releasing muscle tension and adhesions is a nuanced process that cannot be forced. When the body and nervous system are consistently met with safety and techniques aligned with each client’s sensory preferences, relaxation naturally follows.
If this approach resonates with your personal wellness goals, I invite you to schedule a session. I look forward to supporting you in feeling your best!

After booking your massage, you will receive a confirmation email with a digital intake form. Please complete this prior to your visit so your therapist is fully informed of your goals and health history. Upon arrival, your Massage Therapist will guide you to a private treatment room and briefly discuss your session goals. They will then leave the room, allowing you to disrobe to your comfort level and slip under the top sheet on the heated massage table. Your therapist will knock before re-entering to begin your customized session. At the end, your therapist will leave once more so you can dress comfortably before heading to the lobby for checkout.

Absolutely. Every body is unique, and your session is fully tailored to your needs. During your intake consultation, you can specify focus areas (e.g., tight shoulders, lower back) or areas to avoid altogether. You can also customize your preferred pressure level (light, medium, or firm), table warmth, background music, and optional aromatherapy oils to create your ideal healing environment.
-
You are always welcome to disrobe to your exact level of comfort. Whether you prefer to remove all clothing or leave undergarments/shorts on, our therapists can comfortably work around your preferences. Throughout the entire massage, you will be professionally and modestly draped with sheets. Your therapist uncovers only the specific area being worked on at that moment and promptly re-drapes it before moving on. All private areas remain fully covered at all times.

The right massage depends on your wellness goals:
Swedish / Relaxation Massage: Ideal for general stress relief, improving circulation, and gentle muscle relaxation.
Therapeutic Massage: Best for targeting chronic muscle tension, knots, or specific areas of pain and tightness.
Customized Integrative Massage: Combines various modalities—such as light stretch work, trigger point therapy, or targeted pressure—to treat your body's specific needs on that day.
If you are unsure, Tia your licensed massage therapist will help you decide during your pre-session consultation.
-
That is entirely up to you! This is your dedicated time to heal and recharge. If talking helps you relax, feel free to chat with your therapist. If you prefer quiet relaxation, resting silently or drifting off to sleep is completely welcomed. The only feedback we always encourage is letting us know if you need adjustments to pressure, temperature, or bolster placement.
-
Before: Arrive hydrated, avoid eating a heavy meal within 1 hour of your session, and complete your online intake form prior to arriving.
After: Drink plenty of water throughout the day to support circulation and muscle recovery. Rest, gentle movement, and cold pressed juice compliment massage nicely.

Mild soreness or tender muscles for 24 to 48 hours following a deep tissue or targeted bodywork session is very normal—similar to the feeling after a good workout. Staying hydrated helps flush metabolic waste from flushed tissues and reduces lingering tightness.

Yes! Prenatal massage is a wonderful way to ease pregnancy-related discomforts such as lower back strain, hip pain, and swelling. Please inform us when booking so we can pair you with a therapist trained in prenatal care and prepare the necessary positioning bolsters for your safety and comfort. (Note: We recommend consulting with your prenatal care provider prior to receiving massage therapy during your first trimester.)

We understand that life happens. If you need to reschedule or cancel your session, please review our Cancellation Policy or contact our team as far in advance as possible so we can offer that time slot to another client seeking care.
