Group Meditation Sessions

Our group meditation sessions are open to anyone and do not require any previous experience or skill with meditation at all. Everyone is welcome! We share basic skills and techniques to get started at each class. You can also expect there to be some discussion and contemplation about how and why one should meditate, and the benefits of meditation.

GWC Meditation Methodology- As seen in the picture above, we offer the use of headphones in order to have a precise and enjoyable meditation experience. While meditation can be done anywhere and traditionally is a silent or chanting practice, we have found that using soft ambient music designed specifically for meditation delivers the best results. The headphones are provided by GWC and intended for helping you go deeper into relaxation and meditation. Headphones are not required and some people choose to not use them. The same music is played over the speakers of the room.

Group meditation is every Monday @ 7pm.

FAQs

Q. I have no or very little experience, will I fit in or get anything out of this class?

A. Absolutely! We all start somewhere. Most everyone that attends the class for their first time, returns. There are many ways to benefit from meditation, the greatest factor in gaining anything from this practice- is getting started.

Q. I think I’m just not good at meditation and wonder if I should even try. is it worth it? I heard it takes a long time to get good at it.

A. While some people start to enjoy meditation sooner than others, it is beneficial for anyone to slow down the constant running of the thoughts (monkey mind). Being “good” or “bad” at meditation isn’t a great way to assess if it’s a good use of your time. Instead, we recommend you determine if you would like to bring more balance into your life and your experience - if so, meditation is right for you.

Q. Is there any certain method of meditation or lineage of teachings that is best?

A. No, the best method or way to meditate is the one that you will use. Most people have the hardest time getting stared with a practice. Once a couple sessions are under your belt, you will start to develop the tools that work best for you. We will encourage you to explore various techniques in order to find success with your situation and challenges.

Q. Do you offer Private Meditation sessions? I would prefer to have a 1on 1 session or at least get started in a more private atmosphere.
