Benefits of Juice Cleansing (Feasting)

  1. Becoming Healthier - We all know that eating more vegetable and fruits is good for us. Well… drinking your nutrition is a method recommended by many natural minded health professionals including Dr. Norman Walker. Juicing allows for a high concentration of nutrition to be ingested easily.

  2. Giving a Break - Just as intermittent fasting gives your organs and body a break from digestion and other bodily processes, Juice cleansing is similar and even better. During a Juice cleansing the body is provided with a ton of nutrients for repair, restoration, clean-up, cleansing, purification, regeneration, and pH balance while temporary lack of solid food allows for the body to be even more efficient.

What to Expect During a Juice Cleanse

  • Having 6 Juices per day is plenty to keep you going. You may feel a hungry feeling for the first 12-24 hours due to not having solid foods in your belly but this feeling will quickly give way to a feeling of lightness and clarity. Some people feel so good after day 3 that they extend their cleanse another day or two…or three.

  • Drinking this amount of liquid is more than some people are used to for 1 day (although it shouldn’t be if you’re regularly drinking enough water) and this allows our kidneys and bladder to do their work. So going to the bathroom more frequently during a cleanse is very normal and actually a good sign. Your body will see this as a wonderful opportunity to “clean house” and get rid of things slowing you down and making you feel sluggish.

  • Waves of feeling really good! You may experience waves of feeling light, very joyous, happy, clear minded, refreshed, and inspired! You may also experience waves of the cleansing process. This can be experience as frequent trips to the bathroom, not usual body scent, wanting to rest, or feeling a little warm or cool.

  • Your life will not change overnight from doing a juice cleanse…probably. While a juice cleanse is a tremendous thing to do for yourself and your body, it is not going to fix all that you think isn’t right. A juice cleanse will help with many functions of your body and beyond which helps set you up for success, however, lifestyle is up to you and we have put together a few tips that will help you along your cleanse and beyond. see below.

These are our recommendations based on our experience and the wisdom of many intelligent beings.

  • Drink your juice regularly through out the day even if you’re not very hungry. This will help ensure nutrients make their way into the body throughout the day which helps prevent hunger during the beginning stage of the cleanse. Drink a juice Every 2-3 hours.

  • Try not to eat other foods. Take this time to do what you are doing - Juice Cleansing (Feasting)!

  • Be sure to drink clean water to help your body flush out anything that is ready to exit.

  • Sip on warm teas or veggie broth if you need to warm up.

  • If you feel the need to eat solid food, wait 10 minutes, then if you still need to, eat raw veggies in small amounts.

  • Avoid as many stimulants and synthetic chemicals as possible during your cleanse as possible.

  • Do light activity to move your body such as yoga, walking, rebounding etc.

  • Use an Infrared Sauna to help assist your body in cleansing.

  • Rest as much as feels proper, you may find your body wanting to slow down a bit while it’s cleansing…Listen to it:)

More tips for Cleansing and Beyond

  • Read books about the benefits of cleansing. This usually helps us to stay in the right frame of mind for cleansing and staying strong throughout.

  • Plan your next juice cleanse.

  • Find ways to upgrade your diet after the cleanse.

  • Look into other ways of cleansing such as Colon Hydrotherapy, dry brushing, nasal cleaning (neti) and oil pulling.

  • Try meditation, its pretty easy to start if you never have, here’s how - find quiet time and be as still as possible, then watch your breath move in and out. We have a group meditation every Monday night at 7pm at Grounded Wellness Center, come try it out!
